Control arm tie rod

The tie rod of the control arm is an essential part of your vehicle's steering system. It prevents your car from sliding and allows you to steer correctly. Your vehicle wouldn't be able to drive safely if it didn't have a working control arm tie rod.

The steering arm tie rod is simply a long piece of metal that connects the steering knuckle to the Control arm. It aids in steering the wheels and to keep them in position. The control arm tie rod is used when you turn the steering wheel to move the wheels to the left or right. It also partly absorbs shock from the road, resulting in a smoother rolling ride.

How to diagnose and replace a worn control arm tie rod

If you feel your car pulls to one side or hear a clunk each time you ride over a bump, you may need to replace your control arm tie rod. You can check to see if anything is obviously wrong with the control arm tie rod by checking it out yourself. If you think it needs to be replaced, you should bring your vehicle to a mechanic who can remove the old control arm tie rod and install a new one without causing any damage to your car.
